Harry Maguire: Leicester City name astronomical price for defender as Man Utd and Man City queue up

Leicester City want astronomical money for their defender Harry Maguire.

Leicester City are not willing to listen to offers for Harry Maguire this summer, but they could be tempted if an offer worth £100 million is made. Although both the Manchester Clubs queue up, they wish to not match the Foxes demands.

According to Manchester Evening News, the Foxes are not willing to sell their star defender. But, they could opt to do business if an offer worth £100 million is made this summer.

Speculations mounted that the former Hull City defender opted to join City over their rivals United. However, those reports have been rubbished as Brendan Rodgers wants to keep hold of him any cost.

But according to LeicestershireLive ‘s Rob Tanner, the Foxes are keen to keep hold of the 26-year-old and would only be willing to sell if a bid of £100million is made.

He wrote: “They want to keep their best players this summer and see Maguire as a cornerstone of the squad that Brendan Rodgers wants to develop.

“That is why they handed him a new five-year contract last summer when United first came calling.

The experienced Leicester City reporter added: “There needs to be two criteria for a deal to be done that would see Maguire leave King Power Stadium.

“Firstly, City must receive an offer that meets their valuation of the player and his potential to get even better.

“Various figures have been banded about but it would certainly need to be above the £75 million Liverpool paid for Virgil van Dijk, a world record fee for a defender.

“One source has even suggested that vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha will not accept anything less than £100 million for Maguire.”

“So far he hasn’t told City he would like to leave, although being realistic if a big offer did come in from Manchester City Maguire would be expected to be interested.

“He also said last summer he was flattered by Manchester United’s approach.

“Which one he would prefer only Maguire knows, but looking at it objectively it would be hard to turn down treble winners Manchester City, who can also offer him Champions League football.”
