Harry Maguire Transfer News: Leicester reject £70m Man United bid for Maguire. The bid reportedly falls short of Leicester’s valuation of their centre-back.
Manchester United are on the look for a centre-back this summer. The Red Devils have zeroed in on Harry Maguire this summer. They have bid £70 million to bring his services to Old Trafford. However, PA have reported that Leicester have rejected the bid as it falls below their valuation.

Leicester do not want to sell Maguire and are under no financial pressure to let the 26-year-old leave the King Power Stadium. Maguire is currently on holiday having been given an extended break following his part in England’s Nations League campaign in Portugal.

Solskjaer wants Maguire
Ola Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to overhaul his side and has already bought in Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. United aim to bring at least 3 more players in this summer. Harry Maguire is one of the 3. Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes and Newcastle United’s Sean Longstaff are the other 2.

Manchester City are also reportedly in the hunt for Maguire’s signatures. However, their chase isn’t as dire as United’s who are looking for a world class centre-back. City’s immediate need is for a holding midfielder and a right back.
The PA report that while not the type to agitate for a move, Harry Maguire has made Leicester aware he is open to exploring other opportunities.
Maguire’s marauding runs and calmness on the ball combined with his aerial presence, pace and strength are perfect for a modern-day centre half. If United manage to bring the defender to Old Trafford, this will be their biggest signing in the post Ferguson era. But for that to happen, United will have to eclipse the £75 million Liverpool paid for Virgil van Dijk last year.
