Hotstar’s promo for both the games were shared on social media site Twitter, which led to confusion and subsequent outrage.

This season of Indian Premier League has had its fair-share of close games. This year, the IPL has been one of the closest, with three teams fighting for a play-off spot on the final day of the season. With only two games and three teams remaining in the IPL, people look forward to an exciting finish to the season.

Chennai Super Kings have already reached the final of the IPL. Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad lock horns for the spot in the final as they meet in the qualifier 2. However, the excitement among the people for this season’s finals received a big blow earlier today, when a pre-game promo was leaked online.

The promo belonged to Hotstar, showing KKR and CSK in the final of the IPL. This raised several doubts over the legitimacy of the tournament.

KKR defeated Rajasthan Royals in the eliminator on 23rd May. They will play SRH for a berth in the final today. The leaked promo led to outrage over the social media, with people raising concerns on whether the tournament is fixed.

However, the doubts cleared when another user on Twitter shared a different promo, featuring players from CSK and SRH.

The qualifier and the final of the IPL are a mere two-days apart. Hence, Hotstar made promos for both the possible outcomes ready. The promo is set to be released after the result of tonight’s qualifier.

The final of the IPL will take place on 27th May.
