Huesca will host Barcelona in La Liga as they fear relegation from the Spanish top flight this season.
The bottom-placed La Liga side faces a huge task this weekend as they host Barcelona.
Ernesto Valverde’s men have almost secured another league title, after they beat Atletico Madrid 2-0 last weekend. Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez scored late goals for the side to secure a victory.
Earlier this weekend, Barcelona registered a narrow 1-0 win over Manchester United. However, Barcelona can’t be complacent after United’s heroics in the second leg of the Champions League round-of-16 against PSG.
While Valverde is likely to bench key players for the game, it may still not provide a fairytale ending for Huesca, whose previous record against Barcelona has been rather uninspiring.
Huesca vs Barcelona head-to-head record:
The Catalan giants have met Huesca only on three occasions in the league.
Huesca gained their first promotion to La Liga in the club’s history this season. However, they’ve played Barcelona in the 2014/15 season as well, and were thoroughly humbled by the side.
The side is at the bottom of the table in the league this year, and is six points behind the safe zone. While a survival might be numerically possible, their form suggests otherwise.
Huesca haven’t won in their last five league games. However, they’ve scored in each one of them.
The head to head record between the two sides across all the competitions is rather overwhelming between the two sides. Take a look:
- Total number of matches played: 3
- Matches won by Barcelona: 3
- Matches won by Huesca: 0
- Games drawn: 0
- Matches played in Camp Nou: 2 (Barcelona wins – 2, Huesca wins – 0)
- Matches played in Estadio El Alcoraz: 1 (Huesca wins – 0, Barcelona wins – 1)
- Matches played at neutral venue: none
- Top goalscorer in the fixture (Barcelona): Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez (2)
- Top goalscorer in the fixture (Huesca): Cucho Hernandez and Alejandro Gallar Falguera (1)
- Top goalscorer this season in the league (Barcelona): Lionel Messi (33)
- Top goalscorer this season in the league (Huesca): Chimi Avila (4)

Lionel Messi might be out of Barcelona’s fixture against Huesca & the return leg of Manchester United because of the eye injury he suffered last night.
If there was one way United will beat Barcelona it’s certainly with Messi not playing… pic.twitter.com/nPDwZfNFtn
