The bruhaha that has erupted ever since Mohamed Salah’s interview last week is just refusing to die down.
Salah who had spoken to Spanish outlet AS last week had talked about how he was unhappy at been ignored for the captain’s role in the club’s tie against Midtjylland in the Champions League. The Liverpool player had also refused to quell news of him being linked to Real Madrid and Barcelona, going onto further add that he considered both the clubs as top outfits.
And with him being left out of his side’s clash against Crystal Palace at the weekend in the wake of the interview, reports were quick to emerge talking about the move being Klopp’s way of retaliation over Salah’s comments.
Whilst multiple reports ever since have quietened such rumours with Salah’s absence being cited to a much needed rest for the player, the embers of Salah wanting out from Liverpool have once again been fanned.

Speaking to beIN Sports, Salah’s close friend and countryman, Mohamed Aboutrika claimed that Salah had talked about to him about his ongoing qualms at Liverpool. The 42 year old who has previously stepped onto the pitch for Egypt alongside Salah claimed that Salah and he had spoken at length about the player’s plight at the Premier League side.
“I know that Salah is not happy in Liverpool, he told me the reasons why he is not happy but they are secrets and I cannot talk about it in public,” Aboutrika told beIN Sports.
“One of the reasons that made Salah angry was that he was not the captain against Midtjylland.”
He added: “In my opinion, Liverpool are considering selling Salah for economic purposes.
“I do not have any influence over Salah’s decisions, he is my friend and brother, and he is smart enough to know what is best for him.”
Although Liverpool are said to be relaxed about Salah’s situation, the fresh comments are bound to send panic amongst the club’s ranks as they look to safeguard the future of their most pivotal attacking name.

Mohamed Salah meanwhile was recently announced as the winner of the new Fans’ Footballer of the Year. The news comes in the wake of Salah extending his reign as the Premier League’s top scorer this season with him taking his tall to 13 goals after scoring twice and assisting once against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
