The player’s agent jetted off to Spain on Thursday
The last couple of days have seen Erling Haaland take over the football fraternity. After news broke out of the player’s father and his agent, Mino Raiola jetting off to Spain to indulge in discussions with Real Madrid and Barcelona, people have started pondering about the striker’s next destination.
This latest development comes in the wake of Haaland purchasing property in Spain, a move which hinted at the striker’s desire to play in the La Liga. And his agent’s subsequent meetings with both Barcelona and Real Madrid on Thursday added fire to the ever lingering rumours of the striker opting for greener pastures.
However, Borussia Dortmund have been quick to quell any news of Haaland leaving the club come the end of the season. Speaking after Mino Raiola’s antics yesterday, Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director, Michael Zorc was quick to allay any reports of Haaland leaving the club.
Borussia Dortmund Unwilling To Sell Haaland
Zorc revealed that he had spoken to Raiola in the aftermath of discussions with Real Madrid and Barcelona and made it blatantly clear that Borussia Dortmund were not interested in selling the player.
Michael Zorc said: “I spoke to Raiola yesterday. We made our intention clear.
“We plan for the long term with Erling. Do not have to be dealt with at all.
“I can see him with us for a long time.”
Erling Haaland has a release clause at Borussia Dortmund, one which will be activated in the summer of 2022. However, clubs are willing to break the bank for him come the end of the ongoing season itself in a move to outbid their adversaries.
While Borussia Dortmund are eager to hand onto the Norwegian wonderkid, reports emanating from Germany state the Bundesliga side could be resigned to losing out on the player. Haaland is said to leave Borussia Dortmund if the club fails to qualify for the Champions League.
Borussia Dortmund are currently fifth in the Bundesliga, five points adrift of fourth placed Frankfurt.
