“I Try Not To Take it Personal”: Serena Williams Shares Reaction to Being Called “Fat” by Daughter Olympia Alexis Ohanian

Serena Williams is pregnant with her second child with husband and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian. While speculation about the same was rife from quite a long time, Williams confirmed the news at the recently held Met Gala. Ironically, her first daughter, Olympia Alexis Ohanian, was still in the dark until quite recently. But the smart cookie was already onto the physical changes she could observe in her mother.

In a YouTube video on her new channel, Serena Williams shared not only how Olympia was reacting to the physical changes in her but also uploaded the video of her and Alexis breaking the news of her pregnancy to their first born. And her reaction is priceless to say the least!

Serena Williams is not getting fat!

Olympia has become something of a social media sensation with her heartwarming and quirky interactions with her mom and tennis legend Serena Williams. Naturally, it made all the sense to capture her reaction to the news of soon becoming an elder sibling. And it did not disappoint.

Before showing her daughter’s reaction, Williams reveals how Olympia was getting stressed out seeing her mother’s growing belly, even calling her fat.

“Olympia does not know right now that I’m pregnant, but she did call me fat and then she got like really stressed out. She was like “Mommy, you’re fat!” 

“I try not to take it personal because I’m like super into fitness, but I’m like…am I?”

From what Serena says, Olympia was evidently hoping to become a big sister as Serena reminds her before laying on the news.

“Remember how you’ve been praying for a little sister or brother? Well, we went to the doctor and it turns out I’m not getting fat but I have a baby in my belly.”

After an initial reaction of “you’re kidding!”, Olympia jumps to hug her mom with joy. Simply unable to contain her excitement, she then proceeds to run away screaming with joy, bumping into something out of the screen (a wall perhaps?).

Both parents urge Olympia to keep the news a secret until “tomorrow”, when the Met Gala was to take place where the couple ended up announcing the news to the world.

With another Williams entering the world soon, we can expect to see a lot of hustle and bustle from all three of them on social media in preparation for the baby. Even more so, it should be quite entertaining to see how Olympia deals with a younger sibling.
