Jos Buttler set to miss the remaining IPL season due to England Test call up

English wicket keeper Jos Buttler has showered heaps of praise over legendary Indian keeper-batsman MS Dhoni and said that he was imagining what Dhoni would have done during his century.

Jos Buttler has been a revelation for the English team. Ever since he has returned from the IPL, he has carried on with his purple patch, scoring loads of runs.

In the post match press conference when opposition captain Tim Paine was asked about Jos Buttler’s effort in the match, he was all praise for the English keeper, “He’s good, he’s very good. Right now, at the moment, he’d have to be the best white-ball wicket-keeper batsman in the world.

I don’t think there’s too many guys to challenge him. MS Dhoni is pretty good, but right at this moment, Jos is at the absolute peak of his powers. He understands his one-day game so well and knows his strengths inside out and just doesn’t go away from him.”

In the last ODI, Australia scored 205 courtesy steady innings from Aaron Finch and D’Arcy Short on a wicket that was difficult for batting. This was was quite decent score if the bowlers bowled well.

Billy Stanlake and Marcus Stoinis bowled tight line and lengths and did not allow the English batsman to get away. As a result, the England innings collapsed and at one point came very close to a defeat.

However, it was Jos Buttler’s unbeaten 110-run knock that took England to victory with only one wicket remaining. With this, England clean swept the five match ODI series against Australia 5-0.

However, Buttler has now himself acknowledged that he was thinking what Dhoni would have done in this situation. Buttler said, “When you’re out there at least you can do something about it. I was just trying to soak up the pressure and imagine what MS Dhoni would do.”
