When India landed in Ireland ahead of the two match T20I series, Virat Kohli was seen wearing a strange mask on his face. Here is the reason why the Indian captain was wearing the mask.

India have left for the long UK tour. Their first pit stop is Ireland where the team recently landed. Soon after reaching UK, they have hit the gym. Recently, BCCI released videos of Indian players sweating it out in the gym.

Kuldeep Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were seen doing exercises of the lower body and working on their thigh strength. KL Rahul and Suresh Raina were seen running on the treadmill Yuzvendra Chahal was also doing lower body exercises.

India will begin its UK tour with the two match T20I series against Ireland to be played on the 27th and 29th of June. Once that is done, India would then move to England where the first T20I begins on the 3rd of July.

While Virat Kohli was seen doing cardio exercises, he wore a strange mask on his face. When the camera faced him, he showed a bottle of energy drink towards the camera.

However, many were curious to know the reason behind this strange mask. Actually this is a special mask which the Indian captain is wearing. It does not allow him to get complete oxygen from the atmosphere. This helps to increase the RBC count in the body and in turn increases the stamina of the player.

It feels as if the player is mountaineering which is helpful to him during match time. Such masks are in trend and used by swimmers. One must say that Kohli’s efforts of trying new things to improve his fitness and in turn, his game are laudable.
