ICC announces new ODI rankings after India lifts the Asia Cup trophy in the United Arab Emirates.

India’s stand-in captain for the Asia Cup, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan have moved up in the latest ODI rankings released by ICC earlier today. Sharma has shot up two places to achieve a career-best second position, while Shikhar Dhawan gained four slots to reach fifth.
With Virat Kohli maintaining his spot at the top of the rankings, the top-two comprises of Indian batsmen, with three in the top-five.
Rohit Sharma scored 317 runs, while Shikhar Dhawan top-scored in the Asia Cup with 342.
Among the bowlers, Kuldeep Yadav made important gains from his impressive performance in the continental tournament. The spinner advanced three positions to achieve a career-best third position in the bowlers’ rankings. Jasprit Bumrah maintains his position at the top of the rankings, while Yuzvendra Chahal is now only five rating points away from breaking into top-10.
In the team rankings, India has gained one point, but are still second in the rankings. England continues to remain on the top, with 127 points, with India five points behind the leaders.
Among other players, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has dropped to 23rd position, while Kedar Jadhav has gained significant rating points in the batsmen’s rankings. The all-rounder, who secured India’s win in the final despite playing with an injury, has moved up four positions to 46th in the rankings.
Indian wicketkeeper MS Dhoni, meanwhile, is 18th in the rankings with 695 rating points.
