ICC Test Rankings 2019: Indian players shine in new Test rankings 2019

ICC Test Rankings 2019: Indian players make the nation shine in the new ICC Test Ranking 2019 updated recently.

Indian team are having a phenomenal tour with West Indies, and have gained a lead in the test series after winning the first match. India need to avoid a loss to claim the series.

With spectacular performances this week in the world test cricket, the ranking table has been updated with India sealing the top spot after achieving 60 points with the win against the Windies.

Apart from the team rankings, there has also been a change in the individual rankings of the players, with the Indian skipper Virat Kohli leading the Batsmen board with 910 points on the table, his half-century against West Indies certainly helped him to lead the chart.

Second to him is Steve Smith, who has made a heroic return to the Australian cricket team after an year-long ban. Smith is not far behind Kohli and has 904 points on the table.

Furthermore, Cheteshwar Pujara has also jumped the ladder, the Indian Batsman is on the fourth position and chasing Kane Williamson to claim the third spot.

On the other hand, Ajinkya Rahane’s man of the match performance has helped him to reach near the top-10 in the ranking, as he is on the 11th spot with only nine points behind Quinton De Kock.

In the bowling department, Indian contingent is also making a mark, with 774 points, India’s best bowler, Jasprit Bumrah is on the 7th spot. However, he is still far from Pat Cummins, Kagiso Rabada and James Anderson, who are vying for the top-3 spots, with Vernon Philander is also contesting for the 3rd rank.

However, Cummins has a significant lead against his counterparts and outnumbering him will be a challenge for all. Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja has fallen from his place and now sits on the 10th spot with Jason Holder hanging on his neck.

Jadeja has also gone down in the rankings of all-rounders, as he sits on the 4th spot with 395 points in his hands. Meanwhile, Jason Holder is leading the chart in this department with 433 points, followed by Ben Stokes, who played the greatest test innings of his life in the 3rd ashes test and Shakib Al Hasan is on the 3rd spot.
