WATCH: MS Dhoni whips off the bails in a flash to dismiss Gunaratne
MS Dhoni and his wicketkeeping skills have been talked about for ages. His unorthodox style of not taking his hands back while keeping to spinners, helps him get that extra second in order to whip the bails away.
Dhoni was at his best today as well, getting Gunaratne stumped when he was trying to take the attack to Kuldeep Yadav during Sri Lanka’s chase.
Gunaratne tried to go for the big one, aiming to deposit Kuldeep into the stands but couldn’t judge the flight of the ball and hence ended missing it, and dragging his foot out of the crease, giving MS Dhoni that split second to whip the bails off; which Dhoni gleefully accepted.
Check out the video:
Kusal Perera’s and Tharanga’s partnership looked to be threatening for India, as the duo were taking the attack to the Indian spinners, but 3 wickets in an over for Kuldeep meant that India could breathe easily.
