IND vs WI Dream11 Team Prediction: Both teams will be hoping for the second ODI to not get affected by incessant rain.

The second ODI of the ongoing India’s tour of West Indies will be played today at Port of Spain. With the first ODI getting washed out due to rain, both the teams would be hoping for rain to not play the spoilsport in the second ODI.

Having whitewashed West Indies 3-0 in the T20I series, India unequivocally have the upper hand ahead of the match. Despite being without the likes of wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni, all-rounder Hardik Pandya and fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, India still comprise of a strong squad.

As far as the hosts are concerned, West Indies will be looking to register their first victory against India during this tour. West Indies would be hoping for stellar performances especially from their ODI specialists.

Pitch conditions and Toss

As has been the trend in West Indies of late, don’t expect a high-scoring match at the Port of Spain in Trinidad today. Going by the current weather prediction, rain shouldn’t play a spoilsport in this match.

Since the start of 2010, the average innings score at Port of Spain is 210.88. Therefore, anything over 250 runs should be a competitive total. In the same period, a team score of 300 runs has been achieved only a couple of times (both by India while batting first in winning encounters).

Out of the 62 results possible at the venue, the teams batting second have won 33 times and lost 29 times. Hence, the captain who wins the toss might just elect to field first.

Dream11 Picks for IND vs WI 2nd ODI

Wicket-keepers for IND vs WI Dream11

In my Dream11 fantasy team for the first ODI, I had picked a couple of wicket-keeper batsmen in India’s Rishabh Pant and West Indies’ Shai Hope. With only 13 overs possible in the first match, there seems to be no reason to make wholesome changes to my team.

However, I have made one change in this department. I am also including West Indies’ Nicholas Pooran in my squad for this match. In 11 ODIs, Pooran has scored 367 runs at an average of 45.87 and a strike rate of 99.18 including a century and a couple of half-centuries.

Batsmen for IND vs WI Dream11

In addition to just picking India captain Virat Kohli and vice-captain Rohit Sharma, I have also made them the captain and vice-captain respectively for this match. Even if one them fires today, I expect to earn additional points for the same.

With West Indies batsman Shimron Hetmyer scoring 277 runs at an average of 46.16 and a strike rate of 129.43 including one century and half-century each against India, I have persisted with him.

Veteran West Indies batsman Chris Gayle scoring a clueless 4 (31) in Guyana has made me bench him. It is a move which involves a lot of risk. Given Gayle’s recent ODI form (246 runs in 10 ODIs at an average of 27.33 and a strike rate of 80.65), I am willing to take this risk.

All-rounders for IND vs WI Dream11

My only all-rounder for this match is India’s Ravindra Jadeja. Expected to contribute across divisions, Jadeja at 8.5 credits has it in him to become the budget buy in this match. In the absence of all-rounder Hardik Pandya, Jadeja will bat at No. 7 which is another vital reason for picking him.

Bowlers for IND vs WI Dream11

Continuing with a four-bowler strategy, I am backing them to aid you in gaining plentiful points tomorrow. Much like the last match, I have selected the Indian duo of Mohammed Shami and Khaleel Ahmed. If the unlikely case of debutant Navdeep Saini playing over Ahmed takes place, be alert during the toss and make the change accordingly.

Among the West Indian bowlers, I have replaced Oshane Thomas with Kemar Roach for the former didn’t play the first match.
