IND vs WI Dream11 Team Prediction, Probable Playing 11, Toss Prediction And Pitch Report for 1st ODI

IND vs WI Dream11 Team Prediction: India will look to carry forward their winning momentum in the 50-over format as well.

The first ODI of the ongoing India’s tour of West Indies will be played today at the Province Stadium in Guyana. Having whitewashed West Indies 3-0 in the T20I series last night, India will be high on confidence after their loss in the semi-final of the recently concluded ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

As far as the hosts are concerned, they will be hoping for the return of some big names work well for them with a change in fortune. Despite their contrasting performances in ODIs lately, there is no hiding to the fact that both teams will be looking to make a few amends in this series.

West Indies would be banking on veteran opening batsman Chris Gayle and wicket-keeper batsman Shai Hope for this match. Just like them, the visitors also have their ODI specialists back for them.

India – Rishabh Pant

Pitch conditions and Toss

Much like the third T20I last night, expect some slight showers to affect the match. Considering the slow nature of the surface, thinking of high scores wouldn’t be the best of judgement.

Just like India captain Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to field last night, expect the same to happen today as well. It is worth mentioning that chasing anything above 270 runs will be a daunting task. Therefore, the captain winning the toss and electing to bowl would be looking to restrict the opposition at a mediocre total.

Dream11 Picks for IND vs WI 1st ODI

Wicket-keepers for IND vs WI Dream11

I am continuing with my knack of picking a couple of wicket-keeper batsmen for this match. While India’s Rishabh Pant makes it to my team on the back of his match-winning second T20I half-century yesterday, West Indies’ Nicholas Pooran has been replaced by ODI wicket-keeper Shai Hope.

In 11 ODIs against India, Hope has scored 436 runs at an average of 48.44 and a strike rate of 73.89 including one century and three half-centuries. Since it is a rarity to have two wicket-keepers as top-order batsmen, I want to make full use of the same.

Batsmen for IND vs WI Dream11

I don’t need to provide reasons for including both Kohli and vice-captain Rohit Sharma in my Dream 11 fantasy team for this match. Given how well both the batsmen have done of late, their name demands to get a nod in most fantasy teams.

With Gayle in the squad, one is also bound to pick him. Not picking him and then watching him tonk the opposition bowlers to all parts of the ground can be a disheartening scene for any fantasy player. Consider it as a gamble, it is the same reason why I have named him as the vice-captain of the team as well.

Although West Indies middle-order batsman Shimron Hetmyer didn’t do well in the T20I series, I have picked him because of his ODI record against India. In six ODIs against India, Hetmyer has scored 277 runs at an average of 46.16 and a strike rate of 129.43 including one century and half-century each.

All-rounders for IND vs WI Dream11

My only all-rounder for this match is India’s Ravindra Jadeja. Expected to contribute across divisions, Jadeja at 8.5 credits has it in him to become the budget buy in this match. In the absence of all-rounder Hardik Pandya, Jadeja will bat at No. 7 which is another vital reason for picking him.

Bowlers for IND vs WI Dream11

In 15 ODIs this year, India fast bowler Mohammed Shami has picked 33 wickets at an average of 21.06, an economy rate of 5.23 and a strike rate of 24.1. It is these stellar number which has made me pick Shami over Bhuvneshwar Kumar for this match.

I have also selected rookie India fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed primarily because of his low price of eight credits. If India hand a debut to Navdeep Saini ahead of Ahmed, include Saini in your for both the players are priced as the same.

The West Indian pair of Sheldon Cottrell and Oshane Thomas have done for them in the recent times. With the hosts not having any outstanding specialist spinner, I though of going ahead with their fast bowlers. Much like the Ahmed-Saini case, be prepared to bring in any other West Indian fast bowler is either one of Cottrell or Thomas is rested (seems unlikely) for today’s match.
