Opener Rohit Sharma hit a solid 67 of 51 balls to lead India to 167-5. Rovman Powell blazed his way to 54 runs. However, with India restricting West Indies to 98-4 in 15.3 overs before inclement weather played spoilsport, Virat Kohli and his men clinched the series with a match to spare.
After the match Kohli hinted at experimenting with the side and giving chances to a few guys in the squad.
“Winning is always going to be a priority. But sealing the series gives the chance to bring few guys in. Idea is always going to be to win first. But winning the first two games gives the cushion,” Kohli said during the post-match presentation ceremony of the second T20I.
It will be interesting to see who gets the nod and who will be rested. India will not be too keen to rest their in-form batsmen and risk them losing momentum. However, with a dead rubber in hand, they would like to hand out opportunities to a few guys such as KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, leg-spinner Rahul Chahar and fast bowler Deepak Chahar.
