India’s Kabaddi fixtures at Asian Games 2018 have been announced. The Asian Games were declared open on August 18. 

The Asian Games 2018 have officially begun after Indonesian President Joko Widodo declared the tournament open. The Indian contingent was led by track and field athlete Neeraj Chopra. The events at the Asian Games will officially begin tomorrow.

While big names like Sushil Kumar, Bajrang Punia, Manu Bhaker and Neeraj Chopra will all be in action on the opening day, the Indian Men’s Kabaddi team will also enter the court to defend their Asian Games Gold. The Indian’s Women’s Kabaddi team will also begin their Asian Games campaign on August 19.

The official website of Asian Games have charted out the schedule of Kabaddi in the tournament this year.

Here are India’s fixtures on the Day 1 of Asian Games:

Men:

India vs Bangladesh – 1:00 PM IST

India vs Sri Lanka – 6:00 PM IST

Women:

India vs Japan – 8:00 AM IST

The Indian men’s team will look to win their eighth gold medal in the Asian Games this year at Jakarta and Palembang.

Women’s Kabaddi event was first introduced in the 2010 Asian Games held at Guangzhou. The Indian team has since won the gold medal in both the editions of the tournament.
