Fantasy Tips for KKR vs MI

The ‘reverse fixture skewed’ schedule has hit the IPL once again, as KKR and MI take on each other for the second time in 3 days.

Players will have to overcome the mental fatigue of facing the same opposition in such quick time, but for Fantasy managers it provides another opportunity to save some transfers.

Mumbai are once again striving hard to get on a roll during the dying stages of the tournament, and from the looks of it, it seems like they might once again be able to pull through.

Rohit Sharma will have to play a massive role in the remaining games though, as captain and as a batsman. The way he uses himself in the batting order is something that will ultimately determine Mumbai’s fate in the competition.

KKR need to find their mojo back and quickly. MI have been their bogey side all through, having beaten KKR in their last 7 encounters.

However, a home game could work in KKR’s favour as they would be hoping that the passionate Kolkata crowd can help them get over the line.

A loss here for Mumbai would mean curtains for their IPL campaign, something that should provide extra motivation for both sides.

Let’s get to business now!

Now, I already have Suryakumar Yadav and Mayank Markande in my side for this game.

Sunil Narine would be my first pick for this game for this game, as his all-round abilities are a little tough to overlook. Yes, he was pushed down the order during the chase last time round, but that experiment didn’t quite work.

If you want to play Narine as an all-rounder, you just have to have him as your opener, else you’ll be underutilising him in the death overs.

Better sense should prevail and Narine should return to the top of the order today. If he does(which he will), he should be the biggest ‘point provider’ for this game.

For the second transfer, I will get in from Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma.

Now, logic dictates that I get in Hardik, as he has picked up 14 wickets in 9 matches this season and has scored heaps of runs for MI down the order.

However, when Rohit Sharma plays at the Eden Gardens, you tend to lean towards the possibility of another Rohit Sharma special.

How do you solve this conundrum? I would say Pandya should be the one that should be drafted in, purely because of his dual scoring abilities.

If you still want to get Rohit Sharma in, I would suggest you get him in only MI bat first.

For the uncapped player, get in Krunal Pandya if you get in Rohit, else get in Shubman Gill(i.e when you get Hardik Pandya in).

I won’t be bringing any other player for this game.

Sunil Narine, Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya would my three transfers for this game. I have already given my reasons in the IPL Fantasy League section.

I won’t be making any more changes to my side for this game.
