IPL 2018 Fantasy Guide: Fantasy Tips for KXIP vs MI

The IPL moves to Indore for the first time this season and it will also mark the return of Kings XI Punjab to the IPL after a long 1-week break.

KXIP have had a fabulous start to their IPL campaign this season and a lot of it has had to do with how Ashwin has been leading the franchise.

KXIP have an envious balance to their side and have also been buoyed by the form and brilliance of the ‘Universe Boss’.

Gayle wasn’t bought in the first two rounds of the auction, only to be latter gobbled up by Viru and co., ultimately helping IPL authorities, cricket fans and BCCI by saving the IPL in a way.

Ashwin would be hoping that this mini-break rejuvenates the team rather than putting them off in terms of momentum.

Mumbai have blown hot and cold this season, playing good cricket, but finding ways to lose even from winning positions.

Rohit Sharma and co. need to win 6 out of their next 6 games to qualify for the playoffs and their path to achieving the impossible starts today.

Let’s get to business now!

Now, I already have Rohit Sharma, Mayank Markande and Ishan Kishan in my side for this game.

When KXIP play, the first pick should always be KL Rahul, however, in order to bring him in, I’ll have to make a small sacrifice with respect to my team combination.

In order to get KL Rahul in, I’ll need to leave out Shreyas Iyer, who plays the evening game tomorrow.

The major issue with bringing in KL Rahul or even Chris Gayle for that matter is that I can’t get in a batsman into my side without transferring out Shreyas Iyer, a transfer that could cost me a lot at this stage.

But I would like you to base your selection on the pitch that is dished out today.

If we in fact get the pitch of the old from Indore, the same track were Sehwag scored an ODI double ton, KL Rahul or Chris Gayle could go really big tonight.

Now, as you can get rid of only one of the existing players, I can bring in only one from KL Rahul and Chris Gayle.

Now, you can’t really predict as to which one of these players would tee off today, so the only logical explanation that I have is get in KL Rahul as he  will provide you with double scoring opportunities, thanks to his wicketkeeping skills.

If you want to bring in any other player from this fixture, I would suggest you get in one from Tye and Bumrah, depending on whoever is bowling first.

For the uncapped player, I will get in one from Krunal Pandya and Ankit Rajpoot.

Rajpoot is used up top by Ashwin and at the death and hence I bring him in if KXIP bowl first, else I get in Krunal Pandya.

Now, I already have Rohit Sharma in my side for this game.

KL Rahul and Chris Gayle would walk into my team, as they have been in good form and that flat track at Indore would only aid stroke making.

I’ll get in Mujeeb if KXIP bowl second and Tye if KXIP bowl first.

Tye is a death bowler, whereas Mujeeb operates during the middle. Tye will be most effective when he functions at the death and hence it makes sense to bring him only if KXIP bowl first. If he doesn’t, get in Mujeeb, who doesn’t cost much and is bound to give you at least one wicket today.
