Jason Roy’s performances in the ongoing ODI series against Australia have come just at the right time, as the Englishman has certainly made himself a very attractive option in the IPL auction.

Roy hit a sensational 180 in the first ODI at Melbourne, as he entertained the jam packed crowd and wowed the world wide audience. With his base price pegged at Rs 1.5 crore in the IPL auction, Roy’s brilliant innings will definitely added a few crores to his eventual base price.

Roy was picked up by Gujarat Lions last year, as he was snapped up at his base price of Rs 1 crore. While he did not light up the IPL last season, Roy’s performances certainly caught people’s eyes and made a sizable name for himself.

Of all the eight franchises, Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders are extremely interested in the Englishman, as both teams are looking to get a hard hitting top order batsman.

Chennai Super Kings have traditionally always had a foreign star at the top order, with the Matthew Hayden, Micheal Hussey, Dwayne Bravo and Brendon McCullum to name a few.

With Dhoni returning as captain, CSK will once again be in the auction for a belligerent opener. With a couple of RTM cards available to them, CSK may be looking to use one of card and bring back Brendon in to their fold.

But if they decide against bringing back the legendary Kiwi, the likes of Jason Roy could be a more than suitable replacement.

KKR are another team that are very keen on Roy, as they are very keen on the Englishman. The newly laid Eden Gardens pitch is expected to be fast and with good bounce, as opposed to the slow turning tracks that we saw in years past.

This would suit the likes of Roy to the tee, as the English star prefers the ball coming on to his bat, making him a very attractive option for KKR.

While only CSK and KKR have made their interest shown, there will certainly be other teams who will go in big for the talented Englishman!
