IPL 2020 News: CSK respond to fan's query of trading Ravindra Jadeja to Mumbai Indians

CSK respond to fan’s query: The Indian Premier League franchise replied on a trade-related query regarding their all-rounder.

Chennai Super Kings, one of most successful franchises in the Indian Premier League, have released only five players before the IPL 2020 auction.

Known for sticking to their core group, Super Kings didn’t show any apprehension with respect to their aged players during the trading window. With a limited purse of INR 14.60 crore and only two overseas slots remaining, don’t expect them going all out during the auction next month.

CSK respond to fan’s query of trading Ravindra Jadeja to Mumbai Indians

Social media platform Twitter recently witnessed a query regarding CSK all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja’s trade to defending champions Mumbai Indians. Laying emphasis on MI covering all their bases, the fan asked if Chennai would agree to release the 30-year old cricketer.

Super Kings, who are generally active on the platform, replied to the fan but replied against his wish.

Apart from his bowling and batting, Jadeja also contributes significantly in the fielding department for any team he plays for. The southpaw’s presence in the middle both saves runs and affects dismissals for Chennai.

In IPL 2019, Jadeja picked 15 wickets in 16 matches at an average of 22.86, an economy rate of 6.35 and a strike rate of 21.60. In 170 matches overall in the tournament, Jadeja has dismissed 108 batsmen at an average of 29.18, an economy rate of 7.57 and a strike rate of 7.10.

As far as batting down the order in the IPL is concerned, Jadeja has scored 1,927 runs at an average of 24.08 and a strike rate of 122.58. Other than Super Kings, Jadeja has also played for Rajasthan Royals, Kochi Tuskers Kerala and Gujarat Lions in the tournament.
