It’s that time of the year folks!

The eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League will take place next April as fans of the decade long tournament will be eagerly anticipating the start of what promises to be a new look league with a fresh set of teams.

The mega IPL auction will field an incredible array of players, as the very best in the business will go under the famous hammer.

The auction is an extremely exciting event that fans eagerly look forward to. The unpredictability of an auction makes the event all the more attractive as franchise owners and fans are equally clueless as to how the event will turn out.

After a two year exile, Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals will come back into the fold and will take part in the mega auction.

Back in 2008, all the franchises took part in the mega auction which turned out to be an extremely exciting affair as the teams battled each other for the best players in the world.

While Dhoni became the most expensive player in 2008, Ben Stokes currently holds the tag for the highest ever paid player in IPL history.

But surely someone will break Stoke’s record in 2018!

And now it is being reported that the mega IPL auction will take place in Goa in the last few weeks of January.

BCCI secretary Amitabh Choudhary did not reveal much but did mention that the Right to Match cards will be available for the returning Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals.

“The player pool available for Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals for retention/Right to Match will be the players’ who played for them respectively in IPL 2015 and who were part of RPS and Gujarat Lions squads in IPL 2017.”
