WATCH : Dhoni’s master plan to dismiss Dickwella in the 3rd ODI
The fact that MS Dhoni is one of the sharpest minds in world cricket is not lost on anyone, least of all his team mates.
Although the keeper is no longer the captain of the side, Dhoni still commands immense respect from his team mates and rightly so.
A lot of credit needs to be given to Kohli and the team management as they made a proactive effort to keep the former captain involved in all the major team decisions both on and off the field.
This is quite evident on the field as Kohli often consults his former skipper before taking impromptu decisions during the innings.

With Kohli absent from the Sri Lanka series, Dhoni has shouldered more responsibility as he helps the stand in captain Rohit Sharma during the matches.
One particular moment stood out during the Sri Lankan innings in the 3rd ODI in Vizag today. After Upul Tharanga smashed a quick fire 95, Kuldeep Yadav dismissed him after some typically smart work behind the stumps.
Dickwella was the next big wicket for India as the keeper has proven to be one of Sri Lanka’s better batsmen during the tour.
The Lankan keeper started off well as he scored a boundary off Yadav. With Rohit looking frustrated, Dhoni took over and gave a few tips to Yadav on how to bowl for the next couple of deliveries.
Yadav then got his man from the very next delivery, as Dhoni’s master plan worked instantly!
