Veteran South Africa fast bowler Dale Steyn took a dig at an Indian cricket fan after the 14th season of the Indian Premier League got postponed due to COVID-19 earlier today.
Into the second half of its league stage, IPL 2021 had to be brought to a halt after four players of three franchises and three support staff of another franchise tested positive for COVID-19 in the last two days.

Steyn took to social media platform Twitter to not speak a lot but still troll an Indian fan who had taunted him when the sixth season of the Pakistan Super League had went through a similar fate in March. After a few players had tested positive on one day, PSL 2021 was postponed on the next day.
Steyn, 37, had received a lot of criticism when his comments on a comparison between PSL and IPL were perceived as him speaking ill of the biggest T20 tournament in the world.
“I think when you go to the IPL, there are such big squads and so many big names and so much emphasis on maybe the amount of money players earn and everything like that, so sometimes, somewhere down the line, cricket gets forgotten.
“I have found that playing in other leagues was slightly more rewarding as a player,” Steyn was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan which had stirred a controversy.
More time at hand for @DaleSteyn62 to figure out which of PSL or IPL is better. Perhaps also accounting for the fact that once started, the IPL managed to finish! https://t.co/pTKKfAX3W9

How Twitterati reacted:
Jeepers, took you a age to get that sentence out. And the only thing that’s bad, is this pandemic. End.

Although Asshish made a fool of himself in this instance it’s not fair that it’s come at the expense of good people’s health. Hopefully there’s lessons to be learned here
