During the 28th match of the ongoing 14th season of the Indian Premier League between Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad in Delhi, Rajasthan Royals opening batsman Jos Buttler scored his maiden T20 century to power his team to 220/3 in 20 overs.
Opening the batting with Yashasvi Jaiswal (12), Buttler put together a 150-run partnership for the second wicket alongside captain Sanju Samson (48).
Due for such an innings, Buttler didn’t the let lack of quick runs in the first half of the innings affect his temperament. Cautious against the likes of Rashid Khan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Buttler picked his attacking options to perfection while scoring 124 (64) with the help of 11 fours and eight sixes.

Buttler, 30, set an example for batsmen who tend to play a false shot in the absence of quick runs in the powerplay. Instead, Buttler got his eye in and then made the most batting against Hyderabad’s second-choice bowlers. Having scored 44 runs on the first 38 balls that he faced, Buttler scored 80 runs in the next 26 balls.
