Jesse Lingard goal vs USA: The 25-year-old Manchester United star scored a thunderous strike to give England the lead.
Wayne Rooney returned to the English national team earlier tonight when the Three Lions took on the USA in an international friendly.
The occasion was significant because this was Rooney’s final appearance for England. Wayne Rooney announced his international retirement last year, but made a final appearance for the side as the FA prepared for his grand farewell.
The former Everton and Manchester United forward signed off as the highest all-time goalscorer for the English national team. Rooney made his 120th international appearance for England.
The first goal of the game was scored by Rooney’s former teammate at Manchester United, Jesse Lingard. The forward buried the ball at the top corner to give England the lead early into the first half.

England soon doubled the lead a minute later when Trent Alexander-Arnold registered his first-ever goal for the national team.
The Three Lions looked in complete control of the match throughout the 90 minutes. Wayne Rooney came on as a substitute to a thunderous roar from the crowd a Wembley. However, the English forward could not get into the scoresheet.

I think England will be top contenders for Euro 2020. Lingard’s goal was a thing a beauty and not many players can pull of a shot like that. #ENGUSA
