Jhye Richardson bowls a throw from boundary line to run out Jake Weatherald

Jhye Richardson bowls a throw from boundary line to run out Jake Weatherald in the ongoing Big Bash league 09, marking a great moment.

The Australian Big Bash league is at its apex and one of the highlighting moments of this edition was recorded in the recent match between Adelaide Strikers and Perth Scorchers.

Jhye Richardson throws the ball with a bowling action from the boundary line to run out Jake Weatherald who unaware of the danger tried to take a double while putting a target on the board.

Jake Weatherald had stroked a brilliant 83 in just 47 balls with 10 fours and 3 sixes over the boundary rope. He had set up a good platform with his innings for Carey and Jonathan Wells (18*) to launch from and take the innings to a formidable total.

But the batsman had to head to the dugout in the 15th over as Richardson’s throw proved to be costly to him. Weatherald had clipped Chris Jordan to the backward square leg and ran in hopes of taking a double. However, Richardson attacked the ball and picked it in one motion.

The fielder instantly delivered the ball to the wicketkeeper who collected and whipped off the bails. Replays showed that the Strikers’ opener failed to make ground in time and was run out.

The Big Bash League tweeted the video to the amusement of fans with the caption, “This is something different from Jhye Richardson in the deep! A run out worthy of a Bucket Moment. #BBL09 | @KFCAustralia

But in the end, Adelaide Strikers were able to give a huge target of 198 runs in 18 overs, courtesy to Chris Lynn’s explosive innings. In response, the Perth based team could only reach to 183 on the board and lost the match by 15 runs.

Nevertheless, an iconic moment by Richardson on the pitch, which certainly amused the fans, and one has to appreciate the power of the throw by him.
