Juan Mata on Pogba's form

Juan Mata on Pogba’s form: The Spanish midfielder has talked about Paul Pogba’s form after he has been dropped to the bench in the past few games.

Manchester United are currently 6th in the Premier League. The side registered an emphatic 4-1 victory over Fulham over the weekend, and will take on Valencia in their final Champions League group stage game.

One of the notable absences from the game against Fulham was Paul Pogba, who spent the entirety of the game on the bench. Pogba was also on the bench against Arsenal in the mid-week match.

Mourinho stated after the Fulham win that Pogba would start against Valencia, and that the player would need to prove his quality.

Another Manchester United star, Juan Mata has now commented on Pogba’s form, and his expectations from the midfielder.

Juan Mata on Pogba’s form:

The Spaniard considers Paul Pogba a ‘fantastic midfielder,’ and believes that the World Cup winner will overcome his tough start to the season at the club.

Talking to the media during the pre-match interaction for the game against his former club Valencia, Juan Mata stated that he will help Pogba to recover his form at the club.

“Well, I think we all have better or worse moments in our career, our season,” Mata began.

“As a team-mate, obviously, what I can do from my side is support him and I’m sure he will keep showing how good a player he is and how nice a guy he is.”

The midfielder also insisted that Pogba is focussed on the game against Valencia.

“We know Paul is looking forward to playing good, to do the best for the team and try to perform at his level because we all know when he does that he is a fantastic midfielder.

“As a team-mate obviously what I want is he can play very good and I wish he can play at his best level because if he plays good the team will improve.”

Paul Pogba’s form and his subsequent removal from the starting XI has also given rise to rumours over his future. Various Italian outlets are closely monitoring Paul Pogba’s situation at the club, and are working relentlessly to fuel speculation.

Recently, Juventus’ star midfielder Miralem Pjanic was also asked to comment on Pogba’s possible return to Turin.
