“Jurgen has proved to be outstanding”: Thomas Tuchel Croons Accolades Klopp’s Way Ahead Of Meeting
The two will once again be locking heads come Thursday
Given that they both hail from the same country and had plied their wares in the same league concurrently at one point in their careers, it was rightful that links were going to be drawn up between Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel ahead of Liverpool and Chelsea’s showdown.
Given the colossal ramifications stemming from the meeting with the winner of the affair powering its way into the top 4, this impending clash promises to be a humdinger. For the first time in years, Chelsea are said to have a far chance at downing Liverpool given the work Tuchel has done since his arrival.
However, the 47 year old German was well aware of the challenge his club stared at. Talking ahead of his side’s visit to Anfield, Tuchel talked about his time with Klopp in the Bundesliga and spoke about how he was besotted by Klopp’s football.
Tuchel Appreciates Klopp’s Work At Liverpool
“Of course we know each other but not as good as everybody expects. We never met in Mainz and then I was his successor in Dortmund so naturally, did not meet. Of course we meet when there is a farewell game for a player in Mainz, it is a lot of fun to talk to him.
“We meet at coaches meetings, UEFA meetings and we use the time to have lunch or dinner together. He is super nice to talk to and a very interesting man.
“But it is not as close like it might seem,” Tuchel opined when asked about his closeness with Klopp.
“Of course there are coaches at the moment in the PL, you enter the competition with the best clubs and coaches in the world and one of them is Jurgen clearly, he has proven that.
It is a challenge for me to play against him and his teams but we will not meet up for a tennis match, we will play with our teams and we have to be prepared.
Jurgen has proved to be outstanding, he transforms any club into a unit. He is a big, big part of the clubs,” Tuchel continued on Klopp as he hailed the work done by Klopp at Liverpool.
