Kai Havertz Chelsea Transfer Latest update on Blues’ interest in Bayer Leverkusen’s star

Kai Havertz Chelsea Transfer: Latest update on Blues’ interest in Bayer Leverkusen’s star. The London club were reported to be very interested.

Chelsea have been linked with Bayer Leverkusen’s star player Kai Havertz. Some reports have gone so as far to suggest that the club is willing to do what it takes to get their hands on the 20-year old. However, reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano has denied any rumours of Chelsea offering a contract.

“Chelsea are interested in Havertz as many other clubs… not new,” Romano tweeted.

“But no advanced talks, no official bids to the player or received by Bayer Leverkusen. We’ll see on next weeks.”

All the talks of Kai Havertz and his purported Chelsea transfer are far from any considerable development; at least right now.

He was also asked about the latest update in Timo Werner’s case, to which he replied that the young forward was on his way to Chelsea soon.

Chelsea have already made the purchase of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and look set to add Timo Werner to their fold. Any move for Kai Havertz will see their spending go through the roof. The 20-year old will likely cost at least £75 million. A huge amount, considering the financial implications of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Besides, the club have more pressing needs in their side. Lampard is desperate to add a new left back in their squad. Leicester full-back Ben Chilwell is their top target and the foxes are likely to ask for a huge sum to part ways with their star player.
