Kedar Jadhav has been picked by CSK for Rs 7.8 cr for this season’s IPL and he claims that he would have gone to any extent to be part of CSK setup because of one very special reason.

“I would have done anything to be a part of Chennai Super Kings. To me, CSK is (MS) Dhoni bhai on the field and I hope to play the best cricket of my life with this team. Playing under him for CSK I am sure I will express myself in ways that I have never done before as his presence gives me immense confidence,” said Jadhav on CSK website.

Kedar Jadhav is a Maharashtra born cricketer who made name for himself  when he smashed unbeaten 50 of just 29 balls on his IPL debut for Delhi Daredevils(DD) against RCB.

This was a very special innings for Jadhav as not only this knock took DD to a rare victory in a quite abysmal season, but also he was awarded Man of match for his efforts.

Jadhav followed this by becoming lead run scorer in Ranji Trophy 2013-14 season. He scored 1223 runs with 6 centuries. On the back of this effort he got a call for national side and he made his debut for India in an ODI against Sri Lanka in November 2014.

Due to lack of opportunities, he was not able to make a name for himself until January 2017. In an ODI series England, Jadhav scored 332 runs in just 5 ODI’s and was awarded the Man Of The Series award for his remarkable performances.

But his revelation as a low trajectory right arm slingy off break bowler made him a unique entity and made his place permanent in India’s ODI side.

“I firmly believe that I became a different player after Dhoni bhai asked me to bowl in international cricket. I hadn’t even dreamt until then that I could bowl and pick wickets for India,” the 32-year-old said.

Jadhav feels Dhoni’s ease in captaincy and his caliber to get best out of a player, makes him best captain to play under and biggest attraction for any cricketer to play for CSK.

“He allows a player to express himself and supports a player in every possible way. He knows how to get the best out of every player, that’s his biggest quality.”

Jadhav was quoted as saying by the CSK website.

“Over the last decade CSK have been one of the top teams in IPL. So being a part of this team I am sure I will give my best in every game and also learn more from Dhoni bhai on how to read a situation and adapt quickly.”

Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been a cornerstone for the development of a long list of extraordinary cricketers that India has produced over last decade.

Let’s see how he manages this season!
