Raikkonen's advice for Bottas

Kimi Raikkonen is known for coming up with short yet funny statements, one’s that keep everyone in the F1 fraternity entertained.

With Kimi now moving back to his boyhood team from the 2019 season, fans can expect some more action in Sauber next year as well.

But for the time being, it is time for the Ferrari fans to enjoy some Iceman wisdom.

On a weekend which wasn’t quite memorable for Ferrari, there were the little Kimi moments that made the headlines.

It all started with Ferrari not timing the practice start to perfection. Just as Kimi was scheduled to head out in order to get his practice start in place, Ferrari were informed that they had in fact run out of time and hence the practice start won’t quite be possible.

Kimi was trying to tell his engineer and the team that there wasn’t any time left, but wasn’t quite getting a response about it.

The mechanics then wanted Kimi to take his car out, but a second or two later asked him to stop his car. Kimi responded by releasing a few expletives in Finnish(roughly translated to What a fucking mess).

Kimi: we’re gonna miss the…

Ferrari: stop the car Kimi

Kimi: The fuck?

Kimi in finnish: What a fucking mess

The second big moment came during the race when Kimi’s engineer asked him to do the exact opposite of what Hamilton was doing.

Kimi then quickly came up with the response saying that he couldn’t do that as he couldn’t even see Hamilton.

This was probably about Kimi coming in for a pitstop, and Ferrari wanted to do the opposite of whatever Hamilton did on that lap(if he came into the pit or stayed out for another lap).

Ferrari: “Kimi, do the opposite to Hamilton please.

Kimi: [perplexed] “But I cannot even see him?”

The third moment of the weekend came during the post match press conference, when Raikkonen was asked how he would advise Bottas to get over a tough day at the office, a day when a Russian GP win was snatched away from him, thanks to the Mercedes team orders.

Raikkonen came up with a funny response about how a few beers would do Bottas good.

“It’s not ideal but that’s the way it goes in life. You can’t do much.” he said.

“No idea, maybe with a few beers.” he added.

Will we see more of the same in the remaining races?
