In a recent interview with KKR Captain and Tamil Nadu keeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik, KL Rahul opened up about his dab and his hunger to score more and more runs for Team India. In a fun chat, KL Rahul reveals that he has understood the importance of his spot as there is so much competition around the Indian circuit.

Rahul says that he plays each game like it’s his last game and this is what has given him inspiration to go out there and perform. Rahul also mentioned that scoring a lot of 50s and not being able to reach the three figure mark has made him understand the value of a century.

Even Captain Virat Kohli was all praise for Rahul after his century. Kohli said, “Rahul has come a long way; especially the way he’s been batting since the IPL and in that one game in Ireland – so clean and crisp. We want guys like him to step up. We don’t want to be one-dimensional, we want people going up and down the order.

“He’s got a great technique, great temperament and is very hungry and today he was a bit emotional because the last century he scored was against England in Chennai and it’s been that long he’s been waiting for. It was a great century and a great sign for Indian cricket.”

The young Karnataka star is totally in line with the trends and has developed various different handshakes with members of the team. His dab, his signature move with Virat Kohli and a peculiar handshake with Hardik Pandya are doing the rounds in the media.

Rahul aspires to develop a different handshake with everybody in the team till the end of the England tour. That aside, the sublime form and flawless technique which Rahul has shown promises to take him and long way in Indian cricket.
