In a video with Le Sport, Kalidou Koulibaly disclosed the name of the attacker who gave him the most trouble.
Kalidou Koulibaly has emerged as one of the top defenders in the world.
In the January transfer window, the Senegalese footballer was linked with a majority of top European sides. However, Napoli’s stance on the player has been rather strict.
It has been reported by multiple media outlets that Koulibaly will be leaving Napoli in the summer on a heavy transfer fee.
The player, meanwhile, had a chat with Le Sport earlier this week where he opened up on various things, including the hardest player he has ever faced.
Koulibaly discloses the hardest goalscorer he faced:
During his time in Napoli, the 27-year-old defender has been playing against top strikers from all around Europe.
After the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, Koulibaly has had a face-off with the Portuguese attacker once in the Serie A. While Ronaldo didn’t score in the game, Juventus cruised to a 3-1 victory.

Koulibaly on the San Siro environment tonight compared to the one against Inter where he was racially abused:
“It was two different environments. Here I played a normal game. They [Milan fans] made a nice gesture to me, I felt the support and it made me feel good”. pic.twitter.com/yu6AhfaY04

However, Ronaldo didn’t get a mention when Koulibaly was asked about the hardest attacker he faced.
According to the defender, Karim Benzema was the toughest goalscorer he had to play against in his career.
Here’s the video:
The French striker, who plays for Real Madrid, scored past Kalidou Koulibaly in 2017 during the round-of-16 tie in the Champions League against Napoli. Real comfortably secured a place in the quarterfinals with a 6-2 aggregate victory and went on to lift the trophy.
Koulibaly was asked a list of questions during the chat. The defender called Sadio Mane the best Senegalese player and named Kylian Mbappe the best French footballer.
Among his teammates, he ranks Dries Mertens at the highest.
Kalidou Koulibaly has been heavily linked with Manchester United in the summer transfer window and various reports suggest that he is one of the priority signings for the Old Trafford outfit.

Koulibaly:
“It’s always hard to explain what racism is to a child. For them it’s normal that people of all colours are equal. When I look at school kids, I think that we should all be like that. We need to realise that we’re all different but equal at the same time”. pic.twitter.com/YfAJf1EphN
