The news is all the more interesting because of its timing. While Mbappe has repeatedly been offered a new contract at PSG, the young sensation is yet to put pen to paper. Concerns regarding his future became the talk of the footballing world after his very public spat with Thomas Tuchel over the managers decision to substitute him during PSG’s 5-0 drubbing of Montpellier.
This was not the first time that the two did not get along as Mbappe had behaved exactly the same way when Tuchel last substituted him back in December. Interestingly, the opponent then, were also Montpellier.
Should the transfer happen in the upcoming season or the one after it, it is very likely that Real Madrid will have to break the transfer record currently held by Mbappe’s teammate at PSG, Neymar.
