Lacazette angry at being substituted

Lacazette angry at being substituted: Unai Emery has spoken about Alexandre Lacazette’s being visibly angry at being substituted.

Arsenal returned to winning ways with a 3-1 win over Burnley last night. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a brace, while Alex Iwobi finished the night with an injury-time goal to seal the win.

Mesut Ozil started the game as captain and made an instant impact with a brilliant pass to Sead Kolasinac in the build-up to Aubameyang’s goal.

While the Gabon striker regained the position at the top of the goalscoring chart in the league, Lacazette didn’t enjoy a good time on the pitch and was substituted in the second half.

He showed his anger at being substituted, and Unai Emery has reacted to his outburst. This is what happened:

Lacazette angry at being substituted:

The Arsenal forward was not happy with his performance after the game against Burnley and was visibly frustrated he was substituted in the second half.

Ian Wright took to Twitter to talk about Lacazette’s reaction after he was substituted. “Laca obviously disappointed. As a striker you know when there are still goals out there- game is stretched and he wants to score!!,” Wright wrote.

Unai Emery talked about Lacazette’s reaction after the game, and was happy with the forward.

“I didn’t see that. I think he is happy with our victory,” Emery said.

“When a striker doesn’t score, I like he is angry with this situation. He worked very well today. I think he is going back to the best Lacazette,” the Arsenal head coach stated.

Arsenal suffered two back to back defeats before the game against Burnley, as they suffered a shock 3-2 loss against Southampton in the league, and were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by rivals Tottenham.

The side remains 5th in the league, but are level on points with fourth-placed Chelsea after they faced a defeat against Leicester City last night.

What next?

Arsenal will now take on Brighton in the Premier League on Boxing Day, and face a trip to Anfield for the heavyweight clash against league leaders Liverpool.
