Man United News: Manchester United plan a massive bid of £72 million for Lazio star midfielder Milinkovic-Savic to upgrade the midfield.
Manchester United are looking to bolster their squad after facing a humiliating campaign in the last season, while finishing sixth in the Premier league and losing out on the Champions league qualification.
It is certain that the Red Devils are also seeking for an upgrade in midfield, as Ander Herrera‘s exit from Manchester United and Paul Pogba’s speculated move will make a huge void in the midfield.
Thus, according to a report by the SkySports, Manchester United are planning to make a £72 million bid for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, since the club’s hierarchy see the Serbian International a suitable candidate to fulfill the requirements at Manchester United.
Savic has been a long term interest for Manchester United, with ex-manager of the club Jose Mourinho personally scouted him during Serbia’s 2-0 win over Montenegro in October 2018.
However, Lazio are demanding a fee above £90 million for the 24-year-old and does not intend to lower the asking price. Furthermore, Savic extended his contract with the Italian Outfit last summer.
Although, the Serbian International is reportedly ready to take new challenges but will not force out a move, and will accept to give another year to Lazio.
On the other hand, Manchester United are also targeting Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon, the negotiations with the Portuguese club are still going on for Fernandes. The Portuguese International will probably cost less than Savic.
It seems, Manchester United want to sign at least one player in midfield to fortify their midfield ahead of the next season.
