Lacazette on Aubameyang

Lacazette on Aubameyang: Arsenal’s French forward Alexandre Lacazette addressed his relationship with Aubameyang.

Arsenal are in a great run of form at the moment. Unai Emery’s side clinched their ninth-consecutive win in all competitions against Fulham yesterday. Lacazette and Aubameyang, both scored a brace, while Aaron Ramsey’s stunning backheel goal ensured a convincing victory for Arsenal.

Unai Emery’s side endured a poor start to their campaign, when they lost both of their opening games to Manchester City and Chelsea. Arsenal, however, are yet to drop points in the Premier League since, registering six consecutive victories.

Arsenal have also won both of their games in the Europa League, and advanced to the next round of Carabao Cup with a thumping victory over lower-league side, Brentford.

The Gunners are currently fourth in the Premier League table.

Arsenal’s star forward duo, Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have been receiving appreciation for their impressive partnership on the field. Now, the French striker opened up on their relationship.

Lacazette on Aubameyang:

When Aubameyang arrived at Arsenal in January, it seemed like both the forwards will be competing for one position. However, the pair has shared an excellent relationship with each other since, and with Unai Emery using Aubameyang on the left, both the players complement each other efficiently on the field.

Alexandre Lacazette insisted that the Gabon striker is like a brother to him. He talked about Aubameyang in length after a thumping victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage.

“It is good, he is like my brother,” said Lacazette.

“We talk every day and we love working together. Today in front of the goal we scored two goals each, which is good.

Lacazette was also asked on the comparisons between Aubameyang and Arsenal’s legendary forward, Thierry Henry.

“It is hard to compare with Thierry because he came [when he] was younger and Auba is at the top of his career. But I hope Auba scores as many goals to help us win something,” Lacazette said.

He also spoke on Arsenal’s chances of a top-four finish.

“The team spirit is good, of course when you win it is better. We are working well and we want to continue like this. To talk about the top four is early I think, we have to keep quiet and work like we did before and the season is going well. Just work as we did and we will see at the end of the season,” said Lacazette.

What next?

The players will now depart for the international break, which is scheduled this week. Premier League will return next week, as Arsenal take on Leicester City in a bid to extend their winning run to ten matches in all competitions.
