LeBron james is ignoring play calls from Lakers coach Luke Walton

LeBron James is coming into his own at the Lakers in the past few weeks after a rather troubled start.

Ever since Tyson Chandler has arrived in Los Angeles, the Lakers seem like a different unit, but it has also got a lot to do with how LeBron has been taking more of the point guard duty than earlier, when Rondo was fit.

LeBron had been trying to post-up a little more when Rondo was playing point guard. And while it was helping James mantain his energy levels all through the game, he wasn’t able to create as much impact as he would have liked.

Since Rondo’s injury, James has been the de facto point guard, and the results are for everyone to see.

While the Lakers have lost their last two games, they did go on a three game winning spree before that, and LeBron had a massive role to play in all 3 of those games.

So, while the Lakers are settling into a good rhythm, with LeBron at the helm of things, it is more about how LeBron is feeling confident in those Lakers shoes and wants to now dictate terms.

So much so that, the scouts have reported that LeBron James is actually ignoring play calls from coach Luke Walton.

James is taking matters in his own hands and even when he is looking at the bench to take cues from the coach, he is anyways going through with how he wants to approach the situation.

“The scouts also have noticed that when James is running the point, he rarely looks toward the bench to receive playcalls from coach Luke Walton. Even when he has seen them, the scouts say, he ignores them and runs the play he prefers. Walton has adjusted, and now when James is running the show, Walton will typically just let him call the game. This probably shouldn’t be considered a slight — it’s just James being James.” Windhorst from ESPN has reported.

Do you think this could cause a controversy later on in the season, especially during crunch games?

LeBron and the Lakers though had an unforgettable night against the Denver Nuggets, ‘achieving’ a lot of their season lows.

Do you prefer LeBron playing as the point guard and taking more control of the ball or do you want him to play more of post up and conserve his energy as the season goes on?
