LeBron James picks Anthony Davis: LA Lakers failed to secure a trade move for Anthony Davis, but LeBron ensures he plays alongside the star.
The Lakers were actively involved in a trade move for Anthony Davis over the last week two weeks.

There had been a series of speculations over the Pelicans’ star trade move. While Lakers failed to secure the trade, LeBron James has now made sure that he plays one game this season with Davis.
He picked Anthony Davis for his All-Star team as the game takes place on Thursday.
However, his selection was followed by hilarious comments from the captain of the other All-Star side Giannis Antetokounmpo, as well as Charles Barkley.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, the captain of the other All-Star team, was quick to react to LeBron’s decision to pick Anthony Davis.
“Isn’t that tampering?” the Milwaukee Bucks star jokingly said after James had drafted Davis.
LeBron, however, had an answer ready for Giannis. “Tampering rules [do] not apply on All-Star Weekend,” the three-time NBA champion said.

Charles Barkley didn’t shy to take a dig over the significance of James picking Davis as well. He stated that if Giannis wants Anthony Davis, he should follow the example of LA Lakers.
“The best way to do it is for Giannis to trade everybody on his bench for Anthony Davis,” Barkley said during the draft. Both the captains burst into laughter following Barkley’s comments.

The Lakers were willing to trade almost half their roster for Anthony Davis before the recently-concluded trade deadline, which included players like Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball.
