LeBron James set to buy an NBA team in the future

LeBron James has been doing everything possible to make his legacy as big as Michael Jordan’s.

Michael Jordan is currently the undisputed GOAT, with LeBron being the only current day player who can challenge Jordan’s ‘GOAT legacy’.

Now, while LeBron cannot replicate Jordan’s 6-0 NBA finals record, he is doing everything possible to somehow win 6 rings and have better overall statistics than the great man.

Jordan’s impact on the game has been greater than what he has done on the basketball court, with his ‘brand image’ helping NBA become a global sport.

Now, post retirement, Jordan has stayed connected to the sport buy buying a stake in the Charlotte Hornets.

And, LeBron has confirmed that he would be looking to do the same post his retirement too.

“Ain’t no maybe about it, I’m going to do that shit,” LeBron James has confirmed as quoted by the Athletic.

“I want to be my own boss, like I have been for a long time now.” he added.

LeBron James has already been ‘running’ teams, with reports suggesting that most of the decisions at the Lakers are being taken by LeBron James.

James has been influencing the trade market a fair bit too, trying to recruit players, with Anthony Davis being his primary target. However, all the hard work that the Lakers and LeBron himself had done to recruit AD was undone by the Pelicans.

Now, it has been interesting to see Jordan run a team, with his net worth too rocketing up because of the highly lucrative NBA television rights.

With LeBron having confirmed that he will be owning a team in the future, it would be interesting to see how LeBron behaves and functions at the helm of an organisation.

This would also eliminate any chance of LeBron getting into coaching of any sorts and at any level.

It would be interesting to see which franchise LeBron decides to invest in.
