Even though Lewis Hamilton has gone through several tests during his glittering 15-year career, he may have never undergone a lie detector test previously.
Among the many questions that the seven-time world champion was asked, one of them that stood out was whether he was willing to give it his all to fight for a potential eighth title.
The 38-year-old is currently tied with the legendary Michael Schumacher with seven world championships. If he were to win an eighth, he would stand all alone at the top.
How hard is Lewis Hamilton willing to fight for a record 8th title?
When asked if he was willing to keep going until he won a record eighth title, Lewis Hamilton took his time and replied, “Yes.”

The closest that the Briton came to winning his eighth title was in 2021 when he lost out to eventual champion Max Verstappen by just eight points.
However, he and Mercedes were nowhere close last season. The 38-year-old finished sixth in the championship with just 240 points, a whopping 214 points behind eventual champion Verstappen.
And the early signs of Hamilton fighting for an eighth title this year do not look any better either. He and Mercedes have been way off the pace set by Red Bull Racing and Aston Martin so far.
With a 1:32.758 in free practice one, Red Bull Racing’s Sergio Perez set the fastest time. He was followed by Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso (+0.438s). Meanwhile, Max Verstappen (+0.617s) set the third-quickest time in the other Red Bull.
In stark contrast, Hamilton managed only the tenth fastest time and was a staggering +2.159s off the pace set by Perez. His teammate, George Russell, did not fare much better either as he was eleventh fastest.

A similar scenario was also witnessed in FP2. Alonso set the fastest time with a 1:30.907. He was followed by the two Red Bulls of Verstappen (+0.169s) and Perez (+0.171s). Meanwhile, Hamilton (+0.636s) and Russell (+0.975s) were all the way down in eighth and 13th respectively.
Other interesting replies from Hamilton during the lie detector test
Another interesting question that Lewis Hamilton was asked during the lie detector test was whether he had ever lied to Mercedes F1 team principal Toto Wolff. The 38-year-old truthfully responded that he had never lied to Wolff.
However, the Briton’s streak of truthful replies came to an end when he was asked if he had ever urinated in the car.
Hamilton falsely replied, “No with a laugh.” When he was asked to elaborate and reveal the truth, the 38-year-old replied, “I have once.”
