Earlier in the match, Griezmann opened the scoring before Vidal doubled their lead just before half-time. The visitors pulled one back in the 56th minute before Messi all but sealed the game for Barcelona with his brilliance.
Luis Suarez had a phenomenal night himself as he completed a hat-trick of assists before placing the ball behind the net from a penalty to ensure his involvement in all of Barcelona’s goals in the night. Barcelona are now 3 points clear off Real Madrid in the La Liga. However, Zinedine Zidane’s side still has a game in hand.
Barcelona who are looking to win a 3rd consecutive La Liga will hope that Messi can continue his ferocious form that has seen him bag 13 goals on 13 games in the Spanish top flight this season. With the way he has been playing, it is not foolhardy to expect him to score another 50 goals in 2020.
