LIV vs DOR Dream11 Team: Liverpool get their USA pre-season visit underway as they welcome back a hoard of main squad players back

Champions League winners Liverpool get their USA pre-season visit started today with the English side set to take on their first daunting challenge today. After defeating Tranmere Rovers 6-0 and Bradford 3-1, the side will be locking heads against Borussia Dortmund as they look to get underway their full fledged preparations ahead of the impending new season of the Premier League on August 11.

And for the first time, manager Jurgen Klopp will be having a strong squad to choose for with a majority of players from the main squad returning from their holidays. The side have named a strong 28 member side that welcomes back most of their defenders and midfielders, leaving only the attacking facet a little paper thin with Roberto Firmino, Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane still out after their involvement in the Copa America and Africa Cup Of Nations respectively.

The match is a chance for Klopp to test out several of his lesser played options, especially up the field with the trivalent of Harry Wilson, Brewster and Ryan Kent all expected to start the match for the second match on a bounce. Meanwhile with main goal-keeper Alisson out of this match and a spate of injuries to the rest of the options, Simon Mignolet is also expected to play a majority of this one alongside young shot stopper Daniel Atherton.

While Trent Alexander Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk are expected to be handed their first starts of the pre-season campaign, a minor procedure on Andy Robertson’s hand sees him be a doubt for this one, leaving Klopp with a chance to try out Adam Lewis and Yasser Larouci at leftback as he looks to address a department which continues to remain paper thin for the outfit.

Meanwhile for Borussia Dortmund, this match against Liverpool will be a chance to field out a full strength squad as opposed to Liverpool who’ll be presently chopping and changing today. After having already gotten acclimatised with the prevalent conditions after playing a match against Seattle Sounders recently, Borussia Dortmund will be looking to use this as a match to try out their regular playing 11 against a side of momentous calibre.

Liverpool Vs Dortmund Match Prediction

Filled with a hoard of young players, one who believe in playing a stellar brand of attacking football under the tutelage of Lucien Favre, Borussia Dortmund had a compelling 2018-19 campaign in the Bundesliga. Going unbeaten in their first 15 matches to sit at top of the league, their relative inexperience showed in the second half as the side fell apart under immense pressure to end in second place, two points behind Bayern Munich.

On the other hand, while Liverpool were unlucky to fall short by the barest of margins in the Premier League to Manchester City, they went onto left the Champions League after defeating Tottenham 2-0 in the final. It was a befitting way to wrap up a ravishing season, one where they went on an unprecedented spree to stand tall amongst their competitors.

And with both these stalwarts going at it against each other today, expect this match to light up the pre-season matches. With both sides believing in a similar brand of football, this one is going to regale in an extraordinary attacking display. We see Borussia Dortmund winning it given that Liverpool are with their main players in the attacking facet.

Goal-Keeper for LIV vs DOR

We have opted for Daniel Atherton for this one given the spate of injuries that Liverpool are suffering are suffering over here. Although Mignolet should start, Klopp will be eyeing Atherton in the second half to give the young player invaluable minutes in the middle.

Defenders for LIV vs DOR

We have opted for all the fullbacks in this segment with Liverpool’s rightback Trent Alexander Arnold coming in for us while from Borussia Dortmund we have gone ahead with Lukasz Piszczek and Omer Toprak. Both the sides play a brand of football that sees them heavily rely on their fullbacks to maraud up the pitch and making attacking forays into the opposition’s attacking half and could very well get key assists in this match.

Midfielders for LIV vs DOR

The two players come in from either side over here for us with Liverpool being  represented by James Milner and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain. James Milner has finally started earning the requisite laurels for his understated hardworking game, emerging as a key component of Liverpool’s squad over the course of last season and Klopp will be turning to him today as well.

With Alex Oxlade Chamberlain back in the team’s side after recovering from an injury that kept him out for a year, he is expected to play a majority of the encounter as Klopp looks at the best plausible way to fit him in the side. From Borussia Dortmund we have Marco Reus and Jaden Sancho coming in with the two bound to be among the goals.

Strikers for LIV vs DOR

We have gone ahead with two strikers from Borussia Dortmund with both Paco Alcacer and Thorgan Hazard being included by us. New signing Thorgan Hazard has a good season n 2018-18, seeing him get a transfer to Borussia Dortmund the side will be looking to use him on the rightwing for the majority of their campaign.

Harry Wilson is the only pick from Liverpool as we complete our Dream 11 side.

Captain And Vice-Captain

We have made James Milner our captain for this one given his unnerving efforts to contribute up the pitch as well in the defensive facet while Hazard is going to be our vice-captain.

Probable Playing 11

Borussia Dortmund

Burki, Piszczek, Toprak, Hummels, Schulz, Delaney, Witsel, Sancho, Reus, Hazard, Alcacer
