Liverpool caught off guard as Brighton score from a quick free kick. Goal Keeper Alisson had just been sent off prior to the goal.
Liverpool have not kept a clean sheet in months. Jurgen Klopp’s side looked prime to do so in their clash against Brighton in the Premier League. However, the Reds found their defence beaten once again as the visiting side scored from a cleverly taken free kick.

Manchester City drew against Newcastle United earlier in the day, handing Liverpool a massive advantage heading into the match. A win at Anfield has taken their lead to double figures. Virgil Van Dijk, went on to score two massive headers to give his side the advantage heading into the first half. However, the road to the win was a bumpy one.
Liverpool looked in control in the second half. However, trouble struck Jurgen Klopp’s side in the 76th minute when goal keeper Alisson was sent off after handling the ball outside of his area. Alisson was way out of the box and with the ball going over his head, the Brazilian panicked and stopped it with his hand.
Alisson was immediately sent off and Liverpool replaced him with Adrian. Lewis Dunk was given the responsibility to take the free kick. Dunk immediately spotted Adrian setting up his wall on one side of the goal and immediately shot into the opposite corner. Very reminiscent of the UEFA Champions league semi-final winning goal when Trent-Alexander Arnold and Divock Origi combined to take the Barcelona defence by surprise.

Liverpool players were seen complain over the legitimacy of the goal as they were still organising their wall. However, the referee had already made the whistle, which means that the goal was legal.
Liverpool went on to win the match 2-1. However, their lack of clean sheets should be a cause of concern and could very well come back to haunt them in the future.
