Victor Lindelof injury update

Victor Lindelof injury update: The Manchester United manager provided update on the star’s injury.

It was another painful night for Manchester United fans as their side was held to a 0-0 draw by Crystal Palace.

United’s performance was highly uninspiring and Crystal Palace came close to taking the lead in the game on numerous occasions. With this draw, Manchester United may have advanced to 7th position in the league, but wasted an opportunity to go further up in the table.

It was also the first time when Crystal Palace took a point from Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Premier League.

However, one of the rare delights for the home fans at Old Trafford was Victor Lindelofs’s commitment towards the defensive work, even while being injured. The Swedish star tackled and won the ball despite being in pain.

Jose Mourinho has now provided an update on the injury status of the star.

Victor Lindelof injury update:

Victor Lindelof has picked up a muscle injury and is currently under assessment for the same. Talking about the injury, Mourinho hailed Lindelof’s commitment and stated that the workload during international duty plays an important role in player fatigue.

“I believe so [about the injury,” Mourinho began. “I have to believe so. I always say this is the period of the injuries. If they are not injured with the national teams, they come to the clubs and are injured.

“He played against Russia three days ago or two days ago, but of course, we need him when he plays. He was probably our best player.”

Mourinho hailed a ‘brave’ effort from Lindelof, but stated that he punished himself by prolonging his stay on the pitch despite being injured.

“He was a brave lad, but he probably punished himself. I don’t know how long he will be out, but he is a fantastic example,” Mourinho said.

In the post-match conference, Mourinho blamed the international break again.

“I know national teams are very dangerous and I always say or they get injured in the national team or they get injured when they come back from the national team. Which is what happened to Victor.”
