The German striker has amassed 25 goals and 10 assists in 30 games he has played for RB Leipzig across all competitions. The East German club is one of the favourites to win Bundesliga this season.
Earlier they were leading the charts of the league before the Christmas break, but sudden slip-ups have brought Bayern Munich in a close-knitted competition.
Meanwhile, Borussia Monchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund are also lurking around. Amidst this highly tensed competition, Werner is a crucial player in the side and their primary goal-scorer.
So, Liverpool is going to wait till Summer transfer window and did not pounce on the player in the winter transfer window. Considering, the release clause of Werner is highly reasonable, Liverpool won’t mind spending the amount in summer.
This might bring Roberto Firmino lower in the pecking order, which might propel him to move out of the club. Bayern Munich has lately shown interest in the Brazilian forward.
If these possibilities actually align, then we might see a change in game-play at Liverpool, as Werner is very different from Firmino in game-style. On one hand, Firmino is more suited at link-up play and is creative in the centre.
Whereas, Werner is more of explosive up-front. Probably, with this, Klopp is trying to plan a future at Liverpool, with Kylian Mbappe also in his sight.
