Liverpool Transfer News: Reds make a massive transfer decision as Liverpool chose to not make a move for Memphis Depay.
Memphi Depay sparked several transfer rumours after he posted a video on Instagram, while boarding a plane with a caption “Merci Lyon”.
It later stormed on the internet, as many agencies tried to link him with the possible clubs while interpreting the exact purpose of his caption.
Amidst all the speculations, Liverpool were also intensively linked with the player, as Jurgen Klopp has revealed his intentions of adding depth into the squad, in order to compete for the Premier league next season.

However, in a recent revelation, according to a report by the SkySports suggests that Liverpool are not targeting Memphis Depay. Even though, Dutch national press have since suggested the Netherlands International is a target for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
Memphis Depay has found his form ever since he made a move to Lyon and have been a crucial player for the French club as he has amassed 12 goals and 14 assists in 47 appearances across all competitions for Lyon last season.
Thus, making him a hot prospect in the market this summer, and a viable squad player in any top European club.
However, it seems that Memphis Depay will himself not agree terms with Liverpool as he admires their fiercest rivals Manchester United and has played for them.
Additionally, In another post, the Dutch international wrote: “Happy belated birthday to Man Utd legend King Eric!”. Thus, many fans interpreted the message to mean the player still has admiration for one of Liverpool’s main rivals and ruling out any potential switch.
Whereas, considering the quality in Liverpool’s attack, it would be hard for the Dutch International to be at the top of the pecking order in Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Therefore, it seems that both the parties are mutually not interested to hold transfer negotiations, thus outlawing the speculations.

Am stunned people genuinely thought he was coming to us. Stop getting excited over players until they've signed on the dotted line.
