Liverpool Transfer News: Reds set to battle with Manchester United to hire the services of £60 million rated James Maddison. 

Manchester United are trying to land James Maddison from Leicester City, but in recent event, it is being reported that Liverpool have accelerated their pursuit for the 22-year-old midfielder.

According to a report by the Daily Star, the Reds have been joined by the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham in contacting Leicester about the player, who is valued at around £60 million.

Liverpool have one of the strongest squads in Europe presently, but they require to add depth in the squad, in order to continue winning laurels. Hence, Jurgen Klopp is ready to land Maddison at Anfield to bolster his squad.

The English midfielder has been phenomenal in his debut season in the Premier league, as he amassed 7 goal and 7 assists across 36 appearances in the Premier league. Thus, propelling England to call him for the national duty.

However, Leicester City are in no rush to sell Maddison but a certain lucrative offer can compel the foxes to give away the English sensation amid the summer transfer window.

On the other hand, Manchester United need immediate reinforcements in their squad and were targeting to hire the services of Maddison.

Additionally, reports alleging that Maddison is a childhood Manchester United fan, made the Red Devils forerunners in his pursuit.

However, with Liverpool gaining European significance once again, the 22-year-old star can snub Manchester United for a move to the Merseyside, ahead of the next season.
