At the beginning of the transfer season, Arsenal’s primary concern was over the future of Alexis Sanchez.
The brilliant Chilean was seemingly destined to leave the club this summer, as he made it clear to the club that he wants to play Champions league football.
But Arsene Wenger has been surprisingly firm in his stance that neither Sanchez nor fellow star player Mesut Ozil would be allowed to leave this summer. Wenger is happy to let them leave for free next year rather than sell them for a profit this summer.
Reports emanating out of the Arsenal camp say that Alexis and Ozil have accepted Wenger’s decision and are prepared to be fully committed to the club’s cause for the season.
But while these two will stay, the Ox has suddenly decided that he wants to leave the club. The England international wants to leave this summer, after rejecting a huge 180K pounds per week contract from the club.
While Wenger has publicly stated that he is unwilling to let Chamberlain go, privately it has been reported he is ready to deal if the offer is big enough.
Chelsea are huge admirers of Chamberlain and are ready to offer close to 35 million pounds for services. Another rival, Liverpool are also preparing a massive offer in order to tempt the Arsenal star to Anfield.
Klopp feels that Chamberlain can be a huge asset, which is why he has told the club to bid in excess of 35 million in order to capture the versatile Englishman.
For a player that has only scored nine league goals in six seasons at the club, 35 million does not sound like a bad offer especially if the player would be leaving for free in a year’s time anyway.
