The Liverpool vs Man Utd match on Sunday night saw the historic rivals take to the field at Anfield. United walked in to the match as the only side to not have given Liverpool 3 points. However, by half-time, they were already trailing 1-0.

The Reds could have very well left the pitch at half-time with their lead doubled. However, Roberto Firmino’s beautiful curler was disallowed. VAR came to the decision that Virgil Van Dijk had fouled David De Gea in the build up to the goal.

At half-time, Graeme Sounnes was having none of it and proceeded to launch an extraordinary rant against the decision. Former Manchester United star Patrice Evra, who was also in the studio, then proceeded to check whether the Scotsman was drinking water or something stronger.

Manchester United came hard in the 2nd half in search of the equaliser. However, their lack of quality in the final third cost the side. Liverpool took advantage of the visitors sending every one up in the dying minutes searching of the goal, when Alisson spotted an unmarked Mohamed Salah upfield.

The Brazilian launched the ball up and despite a last gasp effort by the speedy Daniel James, Mohamed Salah managed to send the ball between De Gea’s legs; effectively ending the match and giving Liverpool a victory over their arch rivals.
